By Brigid Turner Soul Baby was a great novel to read. From start to finish, I was totally engaged. I purposely paced out the chapters so that I wouldn't finished the book quickly. It felt like a tv sitcom. Each chapter had a natural progression to the next. The author did a great job with his pacing of the characters and their individual stories. This book embraces what couples could go through... and not just African American couples. It wasn't filled with fluff to just entertain the reader. It dealt with real life issues and brought awareness to what can happen in a relationship. It gave me moments of laugher and emphathy for the characters in the book. I speak very highly of this book and told all my friends about it. It is definetely a great book to read, buy and pass on. I thank the author for writing this book. Looking forward to more from him.

This is a stunner! The whole set up into the wonderful world of Soul Baby is awesome. The characters are rich and full of life. The prologue had me hooked and when I started to read what Laney was reading, I became in tune to all the characters and their fears, flaws and victories. I read so many romance novels, but this novel has an incredible presence on how the stories and concept is set up. I must admit this is the first time I read an African American romance novel. I was attracted to the the beautiful cover. And all the characters on the cover came to life and I never felt I was reading about African Americans...only people searching for love and happiness. In which could relate. I told all my girlfriends about this novel and a few male friends. It's sensual, sultry and full of profound messages throughout the novel. Loved it!

I absolutely loved this story. I really got swept away in the story line. The author really gave each character depth and complex decisions. I'm going to go back and read this novel again in about six months. It's great to see African Americans figure out situations intelligently. I must admit, there are a lot of principle characters, but I could relate to all of them. Beautiful and eccentric characters. Two thumbs up! JK
