On February 20th of 1967, Richard Herr plead guilty to the brutal murder of Grand Ledge houswife Betty Reynolds. From the moment the Eaton County, MI circuit court accepted his plea however, Richard Herr has professed his innocence.
In March of 2011, Richard Herr published a book titled Inside-Outside: to be continued in which he tells his story of the murder as well as how he was denied his day in court by the legal system and pressured into pleading guily. He continues to profess his innocence of the brutal crime as he leads the reader to other possible suspects.
Joseph Herr, The Murderer's Son, investigates his father's story and reveals facts on the case and trial that have never been made public until now. He also tells his own story, detailing how being the murderer's son has effected his own life.

I just finished this book within 24 hours of receiving it. I couldn't put it down. I have to say, knowing the "characters" of the story was strange to me. I could picture their faces while I read their heartbreaking story of their childhood. I met the "Herr" girls in junior high and I never knew or even would have guessed that they had gone through such horrific family events such as these laid out in Joe's book. They seemed like ordinary kids to me and now finding out about their past makes my own seem less tragic. I can relate to living the hell life that your parents gave you and I can say these kids came out "Super Great". Within this book, I felt the dreams of childhood through Joe's words and smiled many times throughout the writing. I have to say, Joe, great job, and you should be so proud.
This book was very informative and I applaud Joseph for his courage to write this book I rate this a 5 stars + and encourage people to purchase this book It is important as it shed light on the importance of regulations on Santa Claus and other entertainers Need for regulations / city bylaw to implement mandatory criminal background check on people who want to work with children as Santa , clown , magician and other entertainment Please help protect children,elderly and vulnerable and demand License with criminal background check Keep kids safe More info Survivors Speak Out com
