Price: $8.99
The average new college graduate spends more time planning a Spring Break trip than their entire future post graduation. It is not the folly of youth: it is the short term focus of our uber connected and over communicated world. The underlying psychology of this Generation combined with the screaming need for basic financial guidance is the impetus behind this book: to, in under an hour, in an entertaining manner, give the average new college grad a well above average chance of success. Presented as a seminar filled with tongue in cheek comments, insightful anecdotes, and useful guidance, “Financial Mistakes of New College Grads” aligns with the outlook of those just entering the workforce, and should give them the vast majority of what they need to get going in the right direction. “Financial Mistakes” is the output of thousands of hours of research and hundreds of seminars to everything from Fortune 500 Companies, through start ups with employee number 1,... "Simple, Practical Advice -- For The Rest Of Us" The book is easy to read and has simple-to-follow advice for avoiding the financial pitfalls that hamstring many newcomers to the job market. It's good to make a lot of money with your first job after college, but it's better to keep as much of it as you can. Templin takes the reader on a journey that helps to simplify today's complex financial machine, enabling us -- the "rest of us" who don't really understand finance -- to plan for our future without compromising our present lifestyle. Great advice and workable solutions. I highly recommend it.

"Whether you graduated from Yale or Community College, Summa Cum Laude or just barely, you must read this book" College grads know it all, after all, we went to school and got the degree and the world is our oyster. WRONG. Not that simple, and especially not right now. I graduated 7 months ago and wish I would have gone through this book sooner. I've made some mistakes already that I regret with my personal finances and after reading this book I can see others that were very close on the horizon for me. Especially in the down economy the opportunity for second chances financially is limited. I count myself fortunate to be a graduate and employed unlike many of my friends. But it's not all that easy, juggling multiple part time jobs to make ends meet. I'm experiencing a different level of responsibility that I never anticipated and Joe's book has helped me to adjust. This book is written with the young graduate in mind, fun and practical explanations, thinking points, and... More > simple expression help it all sink in. I wish they woould have handed this book to me when I crossed the stage.< Less

"Not just for college grads!" I graduated about 15 years ago and never got to read Joe's book or one like it. Sure, I've done ok, but this book really would have set the right habits early on and prepared me better for the financial aspects of life. The quick and easy read reminded me of the fundamentals that everyone should follow - "common sense" principles. After reading Joe's book, my wife & I have rebalanced portfolios, clarified goals and savings contributions and generally feel more comfortable about heading into the 2nd half of our working years toward retirement. House payments, kids, sport activities- they had all put us on autopilot with regard to finances and Joe's book was a easy way to remind us to pay attention. Thanks Joe for a must-have book. Very well written and highly recommended for everyone.
