This research is a journey into the history of gender equality. It is concerned primarily with the beginning of the gender consciousness which has naturally led to the emergence of numerous non-governmental organizations around the world. The study begins with the international perspective of the matter, sampling the different times and modes of origins in different parts of the world before the internationalization of the gender struggle. The feminist organizations had started in smaller forms in different nations before the world even became aware that gender inequality was indeed a global phenomenon and a matter of human rights. It only became a mater of time before governments and international organizations such as the United Nations would pick up the issue.
