This book presents a cane system which is mostly made up of elements of previous systems; ie Bonafont, Fairburn, Yerkow, Cunningham, with elements of Escrima and even a little bit of Lang thrown in. So don't buy it? No, not at all. Let me explain. You will come to this book from two directions, either as a novice or as someone with cane defence knowledge. If you are a novice then all this stuff will be new to you. It's well presented, and Grasso and Morales have gone through all this earlier reference material and picked out techniques so that you don't have to. And if you have prior knowledge of cane defence? Well even if you do, it's extremely unlikely that you will have come across the Bonafont reverse grip as the source material is so very hard to get a hold of (I have been trying for some time now) and you will want to buy the book for that reason alone. So go on, give it a go.
