Psych-Out Golf is the art of playing with an opponent’s mind…for fun and profit. Other golf books explain how to improve your mental game. Psych-Out Golf explains how to drive your opponent mental. This is not about crude tricks, like distracting an opponent during his backswing. (Remember Caddyshack? “Miss it! Miss it!”) No, it’s about getting into his mind before the backswing so planted doubts distract him. Psych-Out Golf can help you add 10 or more strokes to an opponent’s score. You will learn: how to suggest sly, subversive swing thoughts; the best betting games and how to win them; how to turn strangers on a course into human hazards; when to cite rules to incite opponents; how to use humor as a weapon, and much more… This is a manual for mischief -- controversial, comedic coaching to ensure that you hold your head high at the 19th hole.

Apr 18, 2011So many golfers take golf -- and the competition of playing a round against friends for beer money -- WAY too seriously. That's why it is such a pleasure to have this book. Here's another thing about golf: There are hundreds of "golf humor" books out there, but the few I've sampled weren't that funny. Maybe one laugh per book. This book has laughs *everywhere.* I can't count the times I laughed out loud at this book. And that may be the best thing about this book: the humor puts weekend golf back in perspective and makes you love the game even more. The two authors are excellent writers (humor is the hardest type of writing to pull off successfully), and they have carefully and intelligently organized their book. (It isn't just a hodge-podge of golf gags). From "Psych-Outs In Other Game" to "Humor, Your 15th Club," I can't wait to try out what I've learned from this book. The only thing that worries me about this book is the sense that the authors,... More > beneath the dead-on and wonderful humor, are actually SERIOUS about Psych-Out golf. Good thing there are photos of the authors on the last page -- if you get paired up with these guys on a golf course after you've read their book, you can neutralize their psych-outs. Unless they're new gathering material for Vol. II. Then you're in trouble.< Less
Apr 15, 2011POG is a hoot! And it has been used on me forever, always, of course by my closest friends. Will knowing what they are doing help? Well it certainly won’t hurt. I would have asked for it for Fathers’ Day but I couldn’t wait. Todd and Judah are great storytellers.
Apr 8, 2011Having played with thel authors, I can attest to the value of their advice, although nothing they might say to me would make my game worse. This book is what golf should be -- brief and fun.
Apr 4, 2011I love this book because it's a good read. My husband appreciated the real golf advice. (Yes! There's good golf advice!) So much fun on so many levels. And the golf hats -- I especially like the golf hats.
Apr 1, 2011Really funny!
Mar 31, 2011Mind games! POG got into my head... What a great premise -- "How to win without improving your game." Any golfer should learn a lot from this.
Mar 31, 2011This is the most fun I've had reading a golf book. Not only did I learn how to get inside the head of my opponent but it also re-ignited my love of the game. Fantastic.
Mar 31, 2011What a great gift for a golfer! This is a really fun read, plus has some great advice. Definitely recommend!
Mar 31, 2011I really enjoyed Psych-Out Golf -- especially the last chapter about how to use humor as a weapon. I highly recommend it.
Mar 31, 2011"How to suggest sly, subversive swing thoughts" -- yep, that's part of the fun for amateurs! Great book for Father's Day.
