A Searching Heart by Judith E. Vido is a delight to read, fast moving, and with characters who are quite appealing - even the sinister ones, who, in the end, turn out to be quite human and redeemed. The novel covers several genres, romance, detective, and a story of family - all seamlessly interwoven. The frequent unadorned poetic touches and the powers of description show the hand of an accomplished artist. Judith E Vido’s style is light and breathless. The feeling of sinister foreboding in the midst of all the pleasant actions makes this novel an engrossing page-turner. Vitae Bergman
