Ted Bennington, married to Beth Middleton, is no match for the scheming American, Paula Morganson, who wants him in order to take over his Hotel chain and win her father’s approval. Beth, recovering from the break-down of her marriage, caused by Paula’s interference and lies, and the death of her infant son, leaves for a country town to work for a hotelier. While there she is wrongfully accused of embezzlement and is sent to prison. Eventually Beth is cleared and on turning 30 she is shocked to find out that she inherits many millions from her late father. Opening a florist shop back in the city, she is stunned to learn that Ted is now engaged to Paula. Even though Paula feels she has won, she resents Beth’s presence and tries to kill her. Ted finally realises where his heart really lies…
