"The Life and Times of Mary Wikoff Oliver" This is a wonderful biography of an unusual woman, who, in her short life, lived, loved, travelled, observed, and, fortunately for us, kept extensive diaries. Mary Oliver was a beauty, as is evident in her photographs. The author, Julie Claydon, has done meticulous research, not only about Mary, but about her husband, Oswald, and his family,English/Irish, whose story goes back to Cromwell and beyond--colorful and distinguished people. Ms Claydon includes a lot of information and many photographs about the times in which Mary and Oswald lived. I think anyone interested in reading or writing a book about genealogy or history would do well to take Julie Claydon's book as an example of the best of both genres. I read right through it, and plan to read it again. Thank you, Julie Claydon!
