Nowadays, with everything being serialized, and bestselling authors putting out a book every couple of months in hopes of having it made into the inevitable movie, it is becoming increasingly rare to find books that are simply well written. I am pleased to report that Hollywood Warlock is one of those books . . . Julie Kushner is obviously a talented young author, who is just beginning to show us what she can do in her debut novel. The plot is intriguing, the pacing is perfection, and the writing is smart, yet accessible. The characters are three-dimensional and well-developed. In the second half of the book, the story really hits its stride. I found myself guessing, right along with the characters what would come next. I expect great things from this young woman . . .

I am a person who absolutely loves all things Hollywood! The actors, the actresses, the gossip, the clothing, the movies - you name it, I'm a fan. I also LOVE supernatural tales of all kinds: wizards, witches, warlocks, vampires . . . the more magical, the better, as far as I am concerned. Because, honestly, real life can be really dull sometimes. So, you can understand why I am absolutely nuts about this book! It's the best of both worlds! We have hot guys (including an actor and a rockstar), movie-making, celebrity gossip, romance, AND warlocks. But what makes this book different from typical fantasy books, is that the warlocks' "powers" are the type of skills that real famous people actually possess. Who knows, maybe there really are witches and warlocks in Hollywood? Hollywood Warlock is the stuff daydreams are made of. It's tons of fun! READ IT NOW!!!

Sure, Hollywood Warlock is a book about a bunch of rich and successful hotties, who just so happen to have magic powers. And, yes, there's some romance, a few juicy sex scenes, some laughs, and a Madonna bio pic thrown into the mix. But, the way I see it, Hollywood Warlock is, at its core, a story about brotherhood and the bonds of family. Richard, Drew, Adam, and Justin are four very different brothers. And, yet, each character is, in its own way, dynamic, deeply-flawed, heroic, humorous, and likeable. The various interactions between these brothers, as well as their relationships and respective alliances with one another, were what made this tale so much more than just a simple paranormal romance story. Anyone with siblings will surely be able to relate to this unique and surprisingly (especially given the genre) intelligent family tale. I highly recommend it.

Great writing, a fun and lightning-fast plot, hot sexy characters, and a creepy red-headed boy that looks like Haley Joel Osment from The Sixth Sense . . . What more could you want from a novel? The Warlock Brothers had me under their spell from page one. Once I started reading, I absolutely couldn't put the book down. Here's hoping that the author writes a sequel . . . and FAST!

I was going on vacation and needed something to read on the plane that fun, fast-paced, and upbeat. A friend of mine lent me Hollywood Warlock, explaining that she knew the author personally. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I figured, "Hey, why not? It's free." I started to read the minute the plane took off and instantly I was hooked. In fact, as soon as I got home, I ordered a copy for myself so I could have it to keep. I absolutely loved all of the characters, and found myself casting which actors would play them as I was reading. (I think Chace Crawford would make a great Justin Warlock. And John Krasinski would be the perfect Adam!) The pop culture references throughout the book are really clever, and I loved the whole Hollywood movie aspect of the novel. There are definitely some supernatural elements to the story, but they are light enough not to turn you off completely, if fantasy is not your thing. All in all a great read. Take it along on your next... More > vacation!< Less
