As October arrives, Laura Blake must prepare to deal with a painful anniversary. While already struggling with the looming date, she suddenly begins to receive unexpected calls from her aunt in regards to her estranged mother.
Laura is quickly overwhelmed by the mounting pressures over her mother, while her memories and the anniversary haunt her. Desperate to battle through the onslaught, she turns to her most extreme coping mechanism: self injury.
Trapped in her present and besieged by her past, Laura must fight her way out of, or be consumed by, the Shadowlands.
