This book is one of my favourites by June James :) It tells a wonderful story of outback Dads looking after their families. With gorgeous illustrations, this books displays such real life attitude and characteristics of emus in their natural surroundings. Love it!
If you thought all emus could or can do is RUN, then you are in for a surprise. This Male Emu, makes the nest, waits for the 'girls' to deliver their eggs, after an introduction of course. Then they leave him to it! Emund, that's what I call him, checks the goods and the sits on them. He sits there for 55 days without food or drink! THEN he stays with the offspring for a total of eighteen months! Hows that for dedicated parenthood? I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did creating it.
