The description wasn't kidding when it said the ending was abrupt. It's a slightly unconventional read, which seems to be a trend with this author. The crew of the space ship Terra One set off on a mission to Mars. But the humanity they hail from is not as kind or as unified as one would like for a project of its kind. It brings up the topic of misogyny on Earth, as reflected in the attitudes of those who live in space during the story. It's also a warning about the consequences of resource depletion on Earth...albeit indirectly. I would have wished for the story to proceed after that abrupt ending. The author left me hanging...but I still liked the story.
