This book reads like a well written period drama. The lives of characters are interwoven with contemporary historical events, which are depicted with precision. The work is well-researched, and contains minute details which range from lyrics to actual Gaelic. Narration from multiple perspectives propels the plot. Would recommend this for anyone interested in twentieth century Irish history, the city of Dublin and family sagas.
