‘A Slice of Territory Life’ is number nine in the series of anthologies produced by Katherine Region of Writers. All entries are based on recollections, research or interviews conducted by the authors. The subjects range from the teenagers living in Katherine today to well-known historical figures, born and bred Territorians to recent arrivals, the trauma of Cyclone Tracy to the beauty of our native birds. This is a cross section of Territory life – pain, passion and humour set against the magnificence of our country. Every effort has been made for historical accuracy. However these pieces are written from a very personal perspective and might include memories in which details differ from others’ accounts of the same incident, person or subject.
