This book could fascinate anyone! The young audience ( I would guess 8 - 14) is sure to embrace it, but I believe that anyone interested in art history, Italian culture, people's history/ lives of artisans, sculpture, or even public works and civic engineering, would find much to love in this book. Both the author and the illustrator deal with challenging material, and both succeed elegantly. This book does a remarkable job of revealing the art, humanity, work and dedication behind the world's favorite public fountain. Like the Trevi fountain, this book is a delight for all who experience it.
