Good information although not well organized and doesn't go far enough into the challenge of starting this type of business. Lots of typos.

This was a fantastic book. It addressed all of the little nuances that anyone going into this field is undoubtedly curious or confused about. As such, it fills a massive void in the classical naturopathic library.

I didn't like this book, I LOVED IT! I am an MBA who is interested in a career change, and am leaning towards natural health consulting. I have read a lot of books out there as to how to get into the field and this by far is the best one yet. Larson gets right down to what it takes succeed on all levels and she makes it simple. She tells it like it is as a seasoned professional, addressing the psychological and practical issues as to being a health and wellness consultant. She tells you how to market, structure appointments, keep clients, get the right assessment systems, supplements, what type of forms to use, how to get malpractice insurance--what more could you want??? I also very much liked her discussion on the legal aspects of being a nonlicensed health professional and how to stay out of trouble. Superficial? Hardly. No, she's not a touchy-feely, warm and fuzzy author who is going to make you feel good about yourself. She tells from what I can see, the truth. I truly cannot... More > understand how anyone contemplating entering or is in this field, could not love this book. I do and it will be my bible when I start.< Less

I ordered The Handbook for Starting A Business As A Natural Health Consultant and downloaded it 20 minutes ago. I looked through it quickly and found it is extremely superficial and did not deal with much information about how to start a business. The first 50 pages address information that is not relevant to starting a business. I am shocked that this book and reviews misrepresent its quality and contents, unless those reviews know little about starting a business. I assumed that having a PhD qualified the author to provide more substantive information. This book does not even classify as a primer, a low level limited information category. "A Must Have Book! 5 Stars!" Kay did a superb job with this book! I found it to be very helpful and educational. As a student in the holistic health field, I had many questions regarding my future business and/or career. Kay's book answered those questions and more! She covers legal issues, forms, marketing, money issues, problem solving, practice management, and more! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering working in the field of natural health.
