5 Stars for this book! A very well written, honest and down to earth account of what goes on in our Public schools. Since reading this book, I have talked to other teachers and they have said the same thing, off the record. I will pull my child out and home school them in the fall. Thank you Mr. Kantorek for your candor and honesty and for opening the eyes of any person that reads your book. I look forward to more of your books in the future.

"He isn't afraid to tell it like it is!" I really appreciated hearing the unfortunate truth from an actual teacher! He speaks his mind instead of giving us the politically correct version that softens the edges and ignores the true issues. Our kids need all the help they can get! I believe that our future is at stake and it is high time we all take an educated look at our educational system! If more teachers were like Mr. Kantorek and cared more about the quality of education, I believe these problems could be eliminated. I would have loved to hear more concrete problem solving strategies from Mr. Kantorek! Maybe in your next book?! If you care about the future and want to know a first hand account of what is really going on in our public schools then this is a book you should read!

"Our Greatest Fear" The author has confirmed our greatest fear-the collapse of our public school system. The book is well written, easy to read and thought provoking. If you conclude that your child has never been a victim of the silent conspiracy of which the author writes, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. If not, weigh the advantages of alternative education. The author has put into words what many of us have already suspected. Children are our future. Something must be done to ensure their education.

"Porblems in our Public Schools" This problem is not new, however has recently escalated to a point of no return. This book outlines the problems without writing a "War and Peace" novel. "No child left behind" sounds great in theory, but as long as the corruption is not removed from the School Districts, this book is the only guide to the real Public Schools in the USA.

"Unspoken Truth about our Schools" This book tells what parents and the public needs to know, but would never find out without spending time on campus as a fly on the wall. It should be required reading for every parent, student, teacher, future teacher, school board member, and especially, government officials that are involved in education (IMO, educational professionals should govern our education policies - but that's another story). Such policies as No Child Left Behind, Special Education modifications, and Graduation tests and requirements, are not put there for the purpose of educating our children. They are there for other purposes - mainly to satisfy voters and parents. I wish solutions had been offered, rather than the "private school" option, but that wasn't the purpose of the author. Recommended - (10 years in public teaching)
