Easy to read but really hard to put down! I love how Keith Watts writes and makes it so easy to get into the plot and the characters. The twists and turns are great.

Very enjoyable first novel from this author. The opening prologue really works in drawing you into the narrative so that you want to read more. The story twists and turns as various individual events eventually connect. The tale is well paced but exciting as 'hero' teenage schoolboy Davey's world gets more complicated as he tries, racing against the clock, to find answers to his somewhat lonely unhappy circumstances. Strongly recommended. File under 'suspence', 'mystery','Teen'. Rumour has it Keith Watts is writing a second novel which may be out in the near future. I await with great expectation.

What a great debut novel. A teenage boy from a troubled family witnesses a mysterious incident whilst hanging around an abandoned industrial estate. His best friend seems to have disappeared. How are these events connected ? As Davey delves deeper and deeper, his troubles at home and at school worsen. Then an unexpected phone call changes everything and gives him a chance – his last chance ? - to find the answers. But - in a gripping race against time - will Davey ever meet the caller who seems to have the power to change his life ? Well paced, sensitive, and thought–provoking, with finely-drawn characters, Dividing Line is a gripping tale which draws you into Davey's claustrophobic world, a world which seems to spiral out of control as events heads towards an exciting conclusion.

An enthralling book, full of unexpected twists and turns with an excellent ending. I bought this book for my holiday but read it within the week after being impressed with the first chapter, causing me to nearly miss my tube stop on several occasions. I sincerely hope that Keith Watts is planning to write a sequel so we can see what happens next in ‘you know who’s life.
