A neighborhood soccer team makes it to the championship game, but arrives at the field forgetting a somewhat important item with which to contest the game -- namely, a soccer ball. The story tracks team members as they split up and search the surrounding neighborhood for a ball. In their adventures, they find a lot of things -- none of them soccer balls. But, they have a ball anyway. Great illustrations by Livia Coloji and Razvan Cornici of Atelie Luna.

"Having a Ball" Having never read a Ronayne book before, I did not know what was in store for me when I purchased Having a Ball (although, I knew I couldn’t go wrong since it featured soccer). This wonderful tale enticingly strings you along as the entire team searches for the one thing they forgot for the championship game — a soccer ball. But, in the end, it’s not finding the soccer ball that’s the end of the journey as much as it is the realization of what the soccer ball is. A truly wonderful story for children of all ages. Jim Joyce Author of "Our Family", "Hammie, the Soccer Playing Hamster" and "Santa's SUV".
