If you have human children, know any children, or are a person of intelligence, I'm afraid I must insist you purchase this excellent tome. Go ahead, I'll wait. Did you buy it? Good, you're not the stingy miser I took you for at first, and I like your pants. Are they new? I thought so. Now, Let me tell you about the book you just bought. Ken (Plumey) Plume and John (Widge) Robinson really show some writing prowess in this lovely book. The story is fantastic and appealed to me as well as the children I managed to trick into reading a real book. I'm afraid this is my first experience with the art of Len Peralta, but I hope to see more of it. The pictures are wonderful and have lots of hidden bits that make you linger on the page instead of scanning the art quickly as is sometimes the case in picture books. The illustrations compliment the story very well. One of my favorite writers, Neil Gaiman,... More > often says that the hardest part of writing for children is that you must make every word count.
