A local gang leader from modern day Liverpool is transported back to the 1911 census year where local mobs 'The High Rip Gang' and 'The Corner Men' rule the roost. The Hoodie learns some valuable lessons.
i found this book interesting compleying from start to finish i started to read it on holiday and left many a drink ( not like me) to catch up on what was happening next. it truly captured my interest and attention from the opening of the book. The research to the story was true to fact i felt i was actually walking down the streets and alleyways that the characters where. The format and idea can be adapted into so many different and wonderful journeys. Well worth a read Highly recommended
Really good concept and I enjoyed reading it. No difference between the gangs of today and 100 years ago. All bully types who pick on the weak. Maybe just one difference - no guns back then. It's been left open ended so will be good to see if the author writes a sequel - and goes into the future to see what Joe and Tommos' grandchildren are up to.
An interesting take on the gang scene in different centuries, whilst not the raw, violent and brutal "Gangs of New York" atmosphere, A pleasant and witty read for all ages.
