This book details some difficult life experiences written in poems and random writings. It encompasses the pain, love, and uncertainties of life. It is a very emotional read and I believe that many people will connect to my experiences of life on many different levels.

A great read!! Ythe author went through some emotional times, but as the title stated, she is not broken. Through reading this book, I can tell the author is strong person and won't let anything stand in her way. I felt a range of emotions from sadness, to pain, to anger to "omg!"( you will know when you read the excerpts). This is a great book for anyone, but especially if you are going through some hard times, know that those predicaments will not break you as long as you don't allow. Overall, I highly recommend this book!
This book provided me with an in depth look into the mind of a young woman on her journey of self discovery. These writings express both the vulnerability and pain that most of us have experienced at some time in our lives, as well as demonstrates our ability to survive adversity and overcome the obstacles of our environments and our minds. I laughed, cried and felt empowered! The Writings of me Bruised But Not Broken is an emotional Must read for anyone looking to gain insight into the often times, quiet struggles of women and girls.
It takes a courageous person to be able to express intimate feelings to the degree that Kenyata does in this book. I think it's vulnerable, uplifting, emotional and real. Her writings express "truth" in an undiluted form and that's what draws me in. What I take away from this book is her desire to live with an open heart; The desire to live without judgement, unrealistic expectations of others and most of all to be accepted and LOVED.
I am really enjoying the book!!! As an avid reader, I enjoy books that I can relate to, ones that I can identify with in one way or another, and there are many subjects in the book that hit home for me. I think that it's wonderful that you have opened yourself up to share your story, and I believe that it will touch others, and help them to come to terms with theirs. I am only about 1/2 way through the book, and I have already had a few laughs, and shed a few tears. It is beautifully written, and I want to thank you for allowing me on your journey!
My coworker emailed me this.... Hi Kenyata: I finished your book. WOW! You've done a beautiful job of putting your thoughts and feelings into words. Yes, I did skip over some words and you knew I would. LOL. I cried at times and smiled at other times. You are truly an amazing person. I for one am extremely proud of you for your strength and courage in writing your book. I wish I had some of that "whatever it's called" in my makeup. I know that you will continue to grow in spirit and knowledge and be successful in all phases of your life. I'm here, if you ever need another friend - even an old friend. Love, Billie
