    "A Thousand Suns, by Kerry Brennan" A Thousand Suns is the latest in Kerry Brennan's poetry series. Published in 2008, this volume contains poetry in both free verse and traditional verse covering a wide range of topics. The title poem, A Thousand Suns, is a poem of contrasts that speaks of a deep love and understanding between a husband and wife. Many of the poems tell of relationships between lovers, family, friends. A few are dedicated to individuals. The emotion in many of these writings comes through clearly. I Thought of You is a personal favorite. A common theme within these poems is of nature. In these stories of the wind and waves, of ships and sailors, the author writes with the deep understanding of someone whose life has been strongly influenced by the voice of the ocean. Other poems speak to the contemporary issues of homelessness or of violence in our society. Often these poems will take on elements from Native themes, or refer to ancient mythology, bringing...
