Mar 26, 2009"Rebellion is as the Sin of Witchcraft" This book is not for the faint of heart. It may challenge some of your theology. It may give you a new awareness of the spiritual battles we Christians in the USA sometimes prefer to ignore. It will certainly encourage you that Jesus Christ can rescue the most broken lives, restore them, and use them for His purposes. Rebellion is as the Sin of Witchcraft is not a book about theology or theory. It’s the true story of a man’s life, written by the man himself. Kevin pulls no punches as he writes honestly and candidly about his unplanned birth to an unwed mother and an abusive father in Africa, his personal involvement with demons and the occult, his struggles with violence and alcohol, his glorious deliverance and salvation, his continued struggles even after this touch from God, his call into missions, and God’s continued work in his life. Who should read this book? Anyone who sits in church every week and thinks "there must be... More > more to serving God than this", anyone who needs to be reminded that God is still working in miraculous ways today, anyone who listens to heavy metal music or dabbles in the occult and thinks “this is harmless”, anyone who thinks they have fallen so far that even God can not rescue them. Kevin is currently serving as the assistant pastor in our church, but soon he and his wife and children will be going back to the mission field. Kevin is as real in life as he is in print. God continues to use him, sometimes in simple ways, sometimes in miraculous ways, to bless our fellowship and to bless other churches as well. I’m glad to call him my Christian brother and my friend.< Less
Jan 31, 2009I never thought this book would impact me the way it did. I found myself wanting to read and read and read. Kevin's story is nothing like mine, yet it is so much like mine. The details are very different, but the root of the rebellion is the same. I have found myself challenged to look internally at some "hidden" rebellions I have held onto for 20 years and I even consider myself a fairly strong Christian. Kevin has been very transparent in this book, something that very few of us could bring ourselves to do. Few other books have challenged me personally like this one!
Oct 10, 2008I found this story very encouraging. It shows that no matter what your past God can use you. Once you give your life over to Him anything and everything can be possible. I love that the book shows you Gods words and his will for all of our lives if we are WILLING, because it is our choice. We can live for God or not. This book will change your outlook on how you are living your life.
May 12, 2008"Rebellion is as the sin of Witchcraft...." This well written testimony of God’s love and saving grace is a must read! The author’s life is a perfect example of what He can do with a life surrendered to Him—in spite of a person’s mistakes and wrong choices. This book offers hope for the seeming hopeless, but with God, nothing is impossible! “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) For those, like Kevin, who come to the end of themselves, acknowledge their need for God’s forgiveness, and surrender their lives to Him, He will give them hope and new life through His Son, Jesus. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 We’re definitely looking forward to Kevin’s next book, “The Wagon Wheel Principle”!
