"Dedicated Poet" Kevin's words can be moving and his works are often epic. They are eminently readable and educating. Without hesitation, I recommend this book, written by a dedicated and talented poet.

"A Fresh and Fervent Voice" I have known and loved Kevin Reese and his exquisitely-crafted poetry for about three years now. He serves as a poetry moderator on, where I am Poet in Residence, and I serve with him on his own poetry site, The Poet House, as Poet in Residence and his fellow moderator. Kevin has a real and unusual gift of cinematic imagery which informs his work; there is a sense of sweep and panorama to his poetry which is extremely rewarding to the reader. When it comes to historical and military themes, he is without equal on the scene today. His experiences as a United States Marine serve him well as a poet. He is able to write of patriotism and traditional values in an entirely nonpartisan and utterly earnest way, completely free of hypocrisy or the cheaply commercial quality of so much poetry being written along those lines in this post-9/11 America in which we find ourselves today. He has deep beliefs, and he speaks them eloquently, wisely,... More > and well. Kevin works hard in a factory to support his family, sometimes as many as a hundred hours a week. He is an honest man and an honest poet, and he deserves to be read. I think the least we can do is to order this book of his. He has fussed over it for so long, and polished it to perfection. I have the highest respect for my friend and fellow poet, Kevin V. Reese, and as someone who has been publishing for as long as this fine young man has been alive, I want to recommend him to you. Why? Because his poetry will make your life richer, that's why. I challenge you to order this book and prove the truth of these my words to yourself and to those you love. Respect and solidarity, +Steven Curtis Lance Poet in Residence ...and author of four volumes of poetry right here at Lulu.< Less
