An excellent romp - I'm not often a big fan of mythology set in more modern times but this one handles it really well. Early Morningwood (yes, apparently he does know) is an interesting character with refreshing thoughtfulness behind his name that's much more than a cheap gag. The action moves along at a fair crack and I never felt it dragged at any point. Certainly not one for skipping chapters, you'll definitely miss bits. There are a lot of little references to real life events and the mythical creatures very much have the feeling of being properly researched - a couple of times it had me reaching for Google to double check something and I've not read much lately that's interested me enough to go find out beyond the book. If you are after a good, solid story with an obvious warmth for its subject it's definitely one to pick up. I had intended to save it for my holiday but after flipping open the first couple of pages, I ended up reading it all the way through. Guess you can't say... More > much more for a book than that.< Less

Morningwood is a brilliant read! Such detailed characters and a story-line that dances beautifully through so many locations and situations. Awesome page turner (I almost missed my stop on the train as I just didnt want to put it down)
