Thank you for your constructive criticism. I will take it into consideration. For those of you reading the story for the first time, I ask that you recieve it like a child with fresh eyes. It is meant to be magical not fact based. The beginning sets up for the delivery of the message and it is the message that I hope you walk away with. Enjoy :-)

I like the idea of this fable - of the bear learning something from the moon. That was clever. I also found the punctuation problems distracting, but my biggest problem was with the beginning: if the bear had been watching the moon for quite a while, he would already have observed its phases. The opening does not make physical sense. I think that, with some creativity, this is a surmountable problem, but as it stands, it is also a big "huh?" right at the beginning of the story.

This is a soothing tale, of courage and assurance. Hawkins’ writing style possesses a poetic rhythm and dreamy essence, which lulls you into the story.
