Kate is an eight-year- old girl who dislikes the town where her and her family live. Kate's town, Dreary Ville, is dark, gloomy, and not a pleasant place to grow up. She wishes she could live in a beautiful town like other children her age. Kate then finds a magical star hoping that her dream will one day come true.
