"A Book Well Worth Reading" AuthorZone.Com Book Review, September 4, 2003 By "webmaster4419" (PoliticsForum.Com)(amazon.com) Are we seeing a reemergence of Transcendentalism? The Wikipedia Encyclopedia describes Transcendentalism as a conglomeration of similar, but diverse ideas about literature, religion, culture and philosophy. Transcendentalism itself is difficult to define concisely, due to the diverse expressions of those involved in the movement. However, the main tenet of transcendentalists is the desire to go beyond (transcend) the prevailing literature and philosophies of the masses in order to improve society. One of the reasons that transcendentalism spans so many disciplines is due to this strength of this desire amongst those involved. In his book, Kurt who considers himself a Transcendentalist, has examined the present concepts of spirituality in religions. He considers most religions as antiquated beliefs which originated in the Middle Ages when... More > superstitions prevailed and states that it is about time that rationality predominates. Kurt claims that what mankind has interpreted as being God is in reality The progressive spiritual intelligence of the universe which is the ultimate unity of souls that exists in the spiritual realm which has never interfered with the universe nor humanity's development. My own assessment is that God does not exist and I have written several books on this subject. Terrorists today are mostly extremist Muslims whose zeal is being fed by their clerics with misguided concepts that Allah will reward their deeds by having their souls immortalized. If this contention expands and continues we may soon see history being repeated in the form of another crusade. Kurt's concept is one that can possibly be the intermediary of religious zealots, peaceful conformists and atheists, if it is accepted. I also now consider myself as being a Transcendentalist and will continue with my own goal of eliminating antiquated religious beliefs. A book well worth reading. Dr. Solomone Tulbure< Less
