Life Ain't Logical

There are more things in the head of a black girl, than are often dreamt of in society’s philosophies might well describe this little work of fiction. Jasmine, an African American puber, plagued by a cat in perpetual heat, explores the intricacies of friendship and love. The tongue-in-cheek tone of the narrative is underscored nicely with cartoon illustrations. The book features large print, titled chapters and is suitable for Middle Grade readers (8-13) and young teens (12-15) and older. Two days before her 13th birthday, instead of sleeping, Jasmine tells it like it is, as she deals with her mother’s divorce, remarriage and her own encroaching puberty and analytical mind, mentally plowing through a streak of past experiences...while getting disturbing glimpses into her possible future...having come of age during some bygone generation.
