"Winter: A Hot Book about a Cold Season" The Lake Region Writers' Group has done a great job of putting together a wide range of stories, poems, and memoirs about winter in North Dakota. Some of the entries (particularly the fiction) would be good enough to run in national magazines and literary journals; others are notable because they reflect the voice, the memories, and the history of a pioneering generation that won't be with us much longer. If you have any connection to the Dakotas -- or just wish you did -- you'll want this book.
