"A novel for historical fantasy lovers" I am a sucker for all things Atlantis and so I looked forward with drooling anticipation when presented with Of Atlantis by Lanaia Lee. The plot has plenty of action, especially in the way of hand-to-hand bloodletting skirmishes. The plot also has intriguing twists as the young Archimedes explores his powers, and his father, fed with false information, becomes suspicious of former friends. The best character by far is Uric: evil personified, his black soul enables him everlasting life – nearly. His only realistic adversary, for the bulk of the novel, is the boy, Archimedes, but will he survive long enough to gain sufficient power to both discover the true wickedness of Uric and then defeat him? Meanwhile Archimedes, although with an extended lifespan suffers especially when his mortal loves and family have to die. The writing style isn’t how I would have written or edited it, but we are all different and this book should have heaps of... More > appeal to teens and young adults, and, of course, to other aficionados of all things Atlantis.< Less
