One of the funniest books I've read in a long time. Tons of smartly funny, laugh-out-loud, totally clever and crazy tidbits that you want to share with folks at the lunch room or in the coffee shop. Don't miss this!

If you'd like your mind to be pleasantly and humorously spun about, surprised, and ambushed by unexpected hilarious absurdity, pick up a copy of Larry Blamire's "Blammary of Terms You May Not Know: With Unrelated Illustrations"… As you read it, you'll have a sudden realization that you're laughing because your very brain is conspiring behind your back with Mr. Blamire to create preposterous fun inside your mind… resulting in involuntary ha-ing on your part. Just see if you don't!

Tears-in-my-eyes laughing. So funny! My 18 year old son and I have been enjoying this book thoroughly. It's just really good. You should get it!

This is a very funny, often brilliant concoction - not unlike Gustave Flaubert's DICTIONARY OF ACCEPTED TERMS, but rooted in fiendishly clever (or just plain silly) wordplay rather than the societal cliches that drove Flaubert crazy and inspired him to lampoon them. When I started reading this book and found myself laughing several times per page, my wife wanted to share in it, so I began reading the entries aloud to her. After awhile, she wanted to feel like more of a participant, so she suggested I read the explanations for the "Blammary terms" and then let her guess the terms! The upswing of all this, is that there is material for a party game here, as well as a book that you can read for your own amusement. I've seen Larry Blamire's movies and have read some of his other work and I sincerely believe this is one of the best things he's ever done in any medium. Oh, and don't be put off by the "unrelated illustrations." When I read that the illustrations were... More > unrelated, I worried at first they might not be by Larry - I was thinking "what are these going to be - Rembrandt etchings? Some stranger's doodles? Pieces of road maps?" - but they actually are drawings that Larry did, so they ARE related, or at least as related as they can be without actually going whole hog and being relevant to the text.< Less

This hilarious book is good for a quick laugh any time of the day, or it also works great at a party with a group of friends taking turns reading aloud. Good stuff!
