A Novel cut out of the west in 1821. Brandy Bentlow a young printers son gets a job to write about what was west of Virginia. Arriving in San Antonio he meets Ginny Howzer a dresswmaker. She made her mark on his heart, but he has a job to finish. He traveled north on a cattle drive to the Missouri River before riding east. Down river a set of circumstances causes him to face the justice system in Franklin, Missouri. He faced the gallows and beat the hangman. When he returned to Virginia his job was done, but he had a reason to return to San Antonio. His travel was not without mishap and he faced danger more than once. After returning to San Antonio Ginny was waiting. On what was to be the happiest day of his life he faced danger once more.
