Larry's portrayal of his father will make everyone who reads it wish they had written about their Dad as well. Or, perhaps like myself, wish that they had a chance to spend more time with him and share his stories. As my Dad died when I was only 14, I never had this opportunity. Congratulations Larry with this well written account of your Dad and the relationship you managed to foster before his death. It was a good-easy read and one you wont want to put down until you complete it. Curious about Larry's relationship with his wife Lisa and how they reunited after a departure early on. Loved this book.

This book was really well written and interesting. Larry's father's generation were definitely cut from different cloth than people of our day and age, and Larry Simotes manages to convey his father's courage and spirit. It was a good read and I enjoyed.

I grew up in Channahon,IL and knew very little about the Simotes family. Reading Larry's book gave me so much insite into a family that I wish I had known better. Larry writes from the heart and gives the reader a clear idea of what his father went through in his difficult life. Thank you to Larry for writing this wonderful tribute to his dad and for sharing it with all. This is a must read for sons and fathers alike!
