The small town of Benton Grove decides to erect a monument in the town square to commemorate all of their veterans who have served their country and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Will the monument stand as a testimony to the brave sacrifices of the young men of Benton Grove including the town’s first conscientious objector or will it be a constant reminder of shattered lives and the prejudices which seemingly never die.
To the world, the wars may be over but to the people of Benton Grove, the deep wounds caused by those wars are about to be reopened…
