This is the story of three generations of women set during the struggle of the 1930’s, the war years, and the post war world of changing values in which a granddaughter, Robin, strives to overcome the burden of her past — a past heavy with the unsettling memories of her grandmother and mother's dysfunctional marriages. In her search for more than the faded promises of the 1950’s, Robin meets a young man, Warren, who invites her into his world of altered mental states and back-to-the-land consciousness. Initially resistant, Robin eventually decides that leaving the chaos of the city could be a chance at a new beginning, a step toward a better future. After searching for so long, has Robin found the kind of lover for whom she’s been longing? Will she now find happiness in the quiet places beyond the city limits, amidst the sandalwood?
