Ferrell tells of the fear and distruction caused by a sever typhoon north east of the Philipines. The acquisition and fate of the ships mascot. Farrell tells of the joy of seeing a lighted ship at night after the war and of the entertainers who visited. The disappointment some felt in not receiving any mail. He also explaines the completeness of a battleship. That is some of his story.
