Many thanks to Lewis for his accurate, insightful and thought provoking story about religion and it's impact on society. I enjoyed his accounts (and occasional rants) of biblical inconsistencies and the struggles religion has forced upon the human race. I absolutely believe in separation of church and state and am outraged when leaders like George W. Bush talk about "god's will" while invading other countries. Lewis also shared his thoughts on Christian crazies like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and others, who should hold a prominent place on any thinking persons wall of shame. DADT was recently repealed, so let's hope things will improve for LGBT military personnel who are proudly serving their country. Unfortunately, The DADT repeal will probably not help loyal service members, like Lewis, who were persecuted and discharged. Great book and highly recommended!

This book is certainly a MUST-READ for all gay and lesbian people in America and around the world! No argument has been more finely put forward with regards to the role that religion plays in the struggle for LGBTQ rights. From Uganda to the Middle East to Europe and especially America, Breland takes you around the world and shows religion for what it is: a force for homophobia and nonsensical thinking. BRAVO! FIVE STARS AND TWO THUMBS UP!
