"My Dear Heart" Great story and it moves at pace. Its full of humour and pathos in equal measure .For a first book it has a cinematic quality and a good story line.Like all irish writers ,you almost wish you were in the middle of the story enfolding, almost taking sides and laughing out loud and crying in the same instance. He shows life in its everyday existance and shows death can be funny as well as noble. If this is his first ,he has a great future as a storyteller in the years to come

"My Dear Heart" It shows the life and times of a ordinary Dublin family as it comes of age in modern Ireland.Ireland in the 1920-60 was extremely poor with people going to work in Britan and America and the turnaround is told here to telling effect. It also cronicles a marriage and its foibles and laughts like the Irish do with passion.Yes this is like a round the world romance as it moves through continents to its moving end.I really enjoyed this book .It had everything. James Joyce
