"Ocho Ninos" What a remarkable adventure by this extraordinary family! One’s first impression is that Lois and Bill Sullivan must have lost their minds to even seriously consider selling their home and departing on an open-ended trip to Mexico in a home made mobile home with 8 children between the ages of 18months and 12 years. The reader just knows that some disaster is right around the next corner, but it never happens. Mechanical breakdowns, bad roads, the language barrier, unavailable accommodations or food, the whimsical state of public transportation- nothing deters this hardy band. They turn lemons into lemonade long before anyone coined that phrase. The love affair of Lois and Bill with each other, with their children and the world courses through the book. Their love of life and all it has to reveal to those bold enough to partake is told in a simple straightforward matter of fact style. One cannot help but wonder what the world and we as individuals would be like... More > if we all were as full of wonder and appreciation for the differences between us. Thank you Sullivans for sharing your trip but more importantly revealing your beautiful souls.< Less
