Inspired by my experiences working in palliative care and watching people I have loved die, this collection draws together stories and poems written over a ten-year period.
Death first cast a shadow over my life when I was a baby and my grandmother died unexpectedly. The impact of this on our family had lasting repercussions. Unspoken grief was the foundation of my childhood, although as a young child I didn’t understand nor was I able to articulate how this impacted on my emotional development.
Through my writing I have explored my own relationship with death and my own sense of mortality.
