An Autism Connection
eBook (PDF), 126 Pages
"An Autism Connection" is a book by a parent of a beautiful 11 year old boy with autism and is about sharing experiences, understanding, thoughts, feelings, tribulations, difficulties, hopes and dreams of parenting a child on the autism spectrum. Being able to relate to the similarities and differences in each others journeys, we can avail ourselves of an experience which can be cathartic, invaluable, empowering and reassuring. The author, Louise Page from Melbourne, Australia, is a Professional Counsellor (parents and carers of children on the spectrum), Illustrator, Integration Aide, Autism Therapist, childrens' story writer and, above all and especially, is a devoted and proud mum, relative, colleague and friend to many souls on the spectrum. Louise believes that this easy-to-read book is one which many parents who have children on the spectrum, or those whose child has recently been diagnosed with autism, will be able to relate to.

Oct 27, 2009"Re: Autism connection" Thankyou Alyson for those very kind words. Such positive responses from a person on the spectrum themselves means so much to me :) Louise
Apr 11, 2009"Autism connection" I have only read the review but looking forward to reading the rest of this book, as Louise is an inspirational parent, who really does embrace her child and his differences. She not only wants to learn from her own child, but from as she feels the best resources, people on the autism spectrum themselves. She is passionate about respecting others for their uniqueness and individuality and that not one human being is superior to another. Being on the autism spectrum myself and having a son I know how hard it can be, I have corresponded with Louise on my forum www.asplanet.info where she is refreshingly positive and shares her views honestly and openly, she gives people like myself hope that others do really want to understand and know. She brings out the best and positive things, and gives us all hope that the next generation of children will not feel as alienated as some of us on the autism spectrum have in the past. I feel my son like hers will have... More > a brighter future because of efforts of people like Louise, who really cares. Aspergers Parallel Planet - Alyson Bradley< Less

Dec 15, 2008"An autism connection" I am the parent also of a person with Autism...and also several other parties living in his body. I believe books written in the parents view will give hope and laughter to new parents. To let them know they are not alone. The general public will be able to understand better by hearing a parents view rather than that of a medical professional. Much luck to you and your book. CarolHawks
