The Ludlow Survivors discussion forum was formed in 2005. Some of the topics on the forum led to discussions about “what if” a large scale disaster should occur in modern society. it started in a small way and just got bigger and bigger. Its membership now extends around the globe. Forum topics are wide and varied. So much information has accumulated over the period that the forum has been running that the editor Chris Breen gathered all the information and this book was created giving information about what we feel would be useful following a breakdown in society or for people who wanted to be more Self Sufficent in everyday life. A special thanks to all who contributed articles to the book. Last but by no means least all the members of the forum, just for being there. This is the first volume of a forthcoming series dealing with all aspects of Survival and Preparedness.
As a Site Founder of The Survivalists Group of Australia (TSGOA) and after recently completing a TSGOA Group Book Buy of The Ludlow Survivors Group book 1 "Living off the Land" in conjunction with Chris Breen, I can attest that the quality of information held within this near 600 page book will be extremely useful to any Preppers, Survivalists, Self-Sufficient's or person's who simply enjoy "having a go" at growing their own food, animal husbandry, trapping and gathering, butchering, making their own dairy products as well as preserves, cooking, food storage, and to top it off making your own alcoholic beverages. A must read for serious Survivalists. Highly recommended and extreme value for money! LSG Books Rock!
An interesting compilation of articles on growing your on food, keeping chickens, Tapping & Gathering Food. Butchering and preparing pigs and Wild Game. A dairy section on making cheese, butter and yogurt. LOts of recipes for both wild and home cooking as well as a good variety of perserves. A chapter on food storage which includes fruit leathers, jerky and home vaccum storage. A look at different types of emergency rations and an excellent chapter on Home made alcohol. The diversity of artitcles makes this an interesting edition to the book shelf of anybody interested in Self Sufficency, Survival, Bushcraft or who just enjoys good food.
