"It Doesn't Really Matter", a short story

ByLucille McElroy

This story is about an orphan teenager who captivated the heart of an only daughter, the only child of a rich couple. The father was entrepreneurial, yet was willing to compromise the lad’s lack of wealth for his daughter’s happiness and that the daughter didn’t have to sneak out of the house to join her rebellious friends to have some good time. Taking a learning experience of the rich man’s loss of his niece due to drunk driving, he agreed to have the lad live at the guest room of the mansion. The lad had to put in more hours in his work until his sweetheart approached his father and had him work in one of his enterprises.
