The Climate of London (I)

This is a republished version of The Climate of London that was originally published in three volumes in 1833. This is volume 1, which contains Howard's analyses of data that he had been gathering for 26 years. It also includes his famous Essay on the Modification of Clouds that introduces his classification of clouds, which is now in universal use. The International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC) undertook this project because of the importance of The Climate of London to the history of urban climate studies. Howard was the first to identify the urban heat island phenomenon. Volumes 2&3, which contain his observations are re-published as a single volume on LULU.
