Still without a doubt the best rock band book you can buy , Luke takes you on a journey along with Mulligan Dik and Micky that will truly amaze you at how sinister conniving and down rite crooked the music business can be , However along the way there is Laughter tears and pleasure too , and is real roller coaster ride for Four brummie lads on the Stairway to Nowhere , It would be an incredible piece of story writing but what is most incredible of all is ,that it's true ...... Buy and enjoy Stu

Brilliant evocation when Birmingham was going to rule the world. Some of the revelations make you gulp and some make you gasp. Talk about on a wing and a prayer! Chancers with talent. Well worth a read.

All dressed up with a message to send - Take your seat & prepare to experience a crazy, madcap ride aboard one man's stairway to nowhere......but don't get too comfy! The fast pace of the first 2 chapters will leave you wondering why you never took the ride sooner. On the surface this appears to be an honest no holds barred journey into the world of rock 'n' roll in the late seventies (early eighties), but deep down it is the story of the pain (albeit Sadomasochistic at times) of the music business as experienced through the eyes of Luke James – one member of the phenomena that was Fàshiön. Packed with 'Music Biz' anecdotes (all veneered with a smattering of 'choice' language), this will entertain anyone who had the privilege of being part of the scene, & will even interest those who are too young to remember when bands actually made an effort & played instruments..... LIVE!! Forget train sets........take a battered old van & experience a roller-coaster!!!

You`ll laugh, you`ll cry, you`ll spew! Birmingham guys with bags of talent, miniscule resources and a shedfull of enthusiasm. The guy could play (still can), he can write...........Part of my late 70`s. At least Luke has stayed true to his path - unlike some of the tossers noted in the book.
