Hell's Own Butchery

ByLynda Martin

A terrifying ordeal in a provincial hospital. Although the ordeal I experienced was bad enough, my main aim in writing it was to expose the state of provincial hospitals. I was outraged, not so much for myself, as I am a born survivor, but for the poor sods who have less coping skills than I have. The abuse and human (and patients') rights violation was relentless. I had to fight all my own battles, as I had no family close by at the time. My message to you is this. If you have a loved one having to undergo a hospital stay, DON'T be distant if you can possibly help it. Being aware of the conditions they are experiencing can make a huge difference in preventing and possibly doing something about the abuse that all too often happens in a distressing number of hospitals who get away with it.
