Captain William James is a private slave trader from Britain. He has transported many Africans from the West African coastline to work in the sugar plantations of Barbados and Jamaica. That is until he meets Sirene, a West African priestess of Oshun whose drum walk (dance) calls to him one cool summer night. He is enchanted by her beauty and strength as he watches her dance, but can she capture his heart and free his mind of ignorance and prejudice?

A very descriptive and beautifully written story. The waterfall scene is steamy, erotic and very sensual with a bit of paranormal elements mixed in. A wonderful short story. I highly recommend this book.
Short and sensual and sweet, I love historical. It didn't hurt it was free, but the story was descriptive and and reminded me a little of the book of Esther in the bible, enjoyed.
